Parenting

Parenting can be challenging and stressful at times and as parents/carers we often feel guilty or judged when we are finding things difficult. The Letchworth Family Support Team have a team of experienced Family Support Workers who offer a range of parenting advice and support. We can support to help you manage your child/children’s behaviour, implement strategies to establish effective boundaries and routines or manage conflict within the family home. We have a member of the team who is trained in the Parenting Puzzle Nurture Programme and an Attachment Lead who can support with child/parent relationship and dynamics.

There may be times where we discuss completing a Families First Assessment which involves holding Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings every 6 – 8 weeks. A TAF meeting involves a multi agency meeting ( all professionals involved with supporting your family) and is a way of working out what extra support you and your family needs. It is used to get everyone working together to identify the needs and also the strengths of your family.

As well as being able to offer this practical support, we can also sign post to external agencies where parents can access courses and workshops to empower them as parents.
